During the tax-free period, no sales tax shall be collected on the sale of clothing, wallets, handbags, backpacks, and shoes that have a sales price of $75.00 or less per item. NARTS Conference 2012 was Great!

Rosalie Shapiro, owner/manager of The Fashion Safari, attended the National Association of Resale and Thrift Stores (NARTS) 25th Anniversary Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri last month.

The four-day conference provided the opportunity to network with fellow resale shop owners across the country and to participate in specialized resale workshops.

This was the first NARTS Conference for Rosalie and she claims it won't be her last. "I met so many wonderful people while I was there and I walked away with valuable resources and renewed energy," says Shapiro. "I feel honored to be a part of this organization and look forward to the conference next year." Rita was recently hired by Top Certs and was looking for some new career wear. Rita is modeling the new designer jacket that she purchased for only $16.00 this afternoon. 

Rita was so excited to find this jacket with the original boutique tags still attached. And she was thrilled not to have to pay full retail. Way to go Rita. You look fabulous!

Positively Pretty Prom Event

High School Girls are invited to join us Wednesday and Thursday evening (March 28 & 29) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will have hundreds of Prom Dresses (formal and semi-formal) for ONLY $10.00 per dress with all proceeds going to Pawsibilities Animal Rescue. We will also have "Bring-A-Dress and Get-A-Dress" (trade out last year's for a new one). 

Please note that the purpose of this fundraising event is to help girls who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend the prom. THIS IS FOR HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS ONLY --- and is not meant to be for the general public to trade out their dresses or get a $10.00 dress for an occassion other than the Prom. Due to the high volume of traffic we are anticipating, we will only be allowing a certain number of girls into the store at one time. Line-up outside starts at 5:00 p.m. Remember to have your teen arrive early for the best selection! A special thanks goes out to all of you who have brought in items for donation. You'll be helping a young girl attend an event of a lifetime and supporting Pawsibilities Animal Rescue at the same time!
