Family Renew Fundraiser Hosted by The Fashion Safari

In recognition of Make A Difference Day, The Fashion Safari is hosting a Fundraiser to benefit Family Renew Community. Here's your chance to get involved and change lives in Volusia County. The Fashion Safari will be collecting donations for Family Renew Community on Saturday, October 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We also pledge to make a cash donation in the amount of 50% of Saturday's net profits from sales to help support Family Renew.

Family Renew Community http://www.familyrenew.org/ considers homelessness in Volusia County to be a problem worthy of major concern. Their goal is to unite people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances to end homelessness among families with children in our community. They house 32 families at their facilities, three residential campuses in Daytona Beach, DeLand and Holly Hill. Families are expected to work and save toward their goals and to remain drug- and alcohol-free. The purpose is to achieve both permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Cash Donations
Checks may be made out to Family Renew Community, Inc., and mailed to: P.O. Box 250123
Holly Hill, FL 32125 (You can also drop off checks or cash at The Fashion Safari all day Saturday)

Merchandise Donations
Family Renew Community Store (The Secret Attic Thrift Store) accepts all merchandise donations. It’s a large store with furniture, small household items, clothing, etc. The store is located at: 32 N. Ocean Shore Boulevard (A1A),Ormond Beach, FL 32176 (behind TGI Fridays). Tel. 386-615-3837

The Fashion Safari will accept small household items, clothing, toiletries, etc. for donation all day Saturday. Just make sure your items are either boxed or bagged and labelled "Family Renew". The housing units are in desperate need of new household items (such as toilet tissue, paper towels, napkins, etc.) in addition to personal items (such as shampoo, bath soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary napkins, deodorant, etc.) These are items that you probably already have in your home and it wouldn't take much effort to gather them up. Please take a few minutes to just look in your closets and under your kitchen and bathroom sinks (if you are unable to go out and purchase these items). Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that due to our space restrictions, we are unable to take in large furniture items, but you can call Family Renew at 386-615-3837 to arrange for pick up.

I truly believe, that by working together for the good of our community, we can help put an end to homelessness and really Make A Difference if we all pitch in and make a donation this Saturday.

With Sincere Appreciation,

Rosalie Shapiro/Owner of The Fashion Safari

A Special Note of Thanks

A Note of Thanks

"I am truly blessed"

Just wanted to start out by saying "thank you" to my wonderful customers, consignors, friends, family, and employees for being so supportive this past week. I took a nasty fall last weekend and fractured a few ribs. I was forced to spend some time resting and recuperating this week, but I am beginning to feel better, and I can't wait to get back to work and see everyone! Thanks again for your love, concern, and prayers. It truly means a lot to me.

Please Help Support Small Business and Sophie's Circle

Support Sophie's Circle by Purchasing your "Port Orange Keeping it Local" Discount Card at The Fashion Safari

The Fashion Safari is pleased to announce that we are sponsoring a fundraiser to help support Sophie's Circle. Sophie's Circle is a nonprofit organization that raises funds, and collects pet food donations, to help needy families keep their pets in their homes where they belong.

Port Orange Keeping it Local is a discount membership organization developed to help support small businesses in our local area. It is estimated that hundreds of businesses in our area will begin to sell and accept the discount cards. Within a few visits to your favorite local businesses, the card pays for itself with the money that you save with specials and discounts offered to cardholders.

Cards cost $20.00 each (cash only) and can be purchased at several locations (including The Fashion Safari). The cards can be used repeatedly at all participating merchants and they don't expire until December 31, 2013.

Here is the best news of all.... The Fashion Safari has decided to donate 100% of the proceeds from every card sold to Sophie's Circle.

Please visit the Port Orange Keeping it Local website to see a list of some of the businesses that have already signed up and to view the discounts that are offered to POKIL cardholders: www.PortOrangeKeepingitLocal.com And in case you didn't already know, The Fashion Safari is also a drop-off location for pet food or monetary donations to Sophie's Circle www.SophiesCircle.com

Thank You in advance for helping to support Sophie's Circle by purchasing your card from a business that is willing to donate 100% of the proceeds to help needy families keep their precious pets from being abandoned or neglected. The Fashion Safari truly believes that by working together, we can all make a positive difference in our community.
